Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan has said he won't rush halfback Ashley Taylor back into the Titans' side, and will wait for the okay from the club's health professionals.

Taylor was back training on Monday, after returning from a self-imposed break a week prior.

The playmaker spent time with family during his time off, and hasn't played since the Titans' round 12 loss to the Cowboys.

Brennan spoke to NRL.com regarding Taylor's return, and said they'll work together in getting him back into the Titans' side when he's ready.

"I'm not going to rush Ash," Brennan said.

"Clearly there were some issues that he needed to address and while it's great to have him back around the group I have to be guided by the professionals as to when he is able to come back into the team.

"The most important thing is that Ash is happy playing footy again. When that time comes he’ll be considered for selection but I won't be rushing him."

Gold Coast brought Ryley Jacks into the side as Taylor's replacement, with Jacks overseeing a win and a defeat during Taylor's absence.
