The MRC has handed down three suspensions and five fines from Saturday's fixtures, with Newcastle and Canterbury among the clubs facing the biggest fallout from the weekend.

Knights winger Dominic Young is facing a one-match suspension after being charged with a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact offence following his tackle on Manly's Tolutau Koula.

Young was immediately sin binned for the incident during Saturday's clash, with the hip-drop tackle forcing Koula from the field. The Manly centre was unable to return after suffering the injury, with fears he had sustained a syndesmosis injury.

Young can accept a one-match ban with an early guilty plea, although that suspension would increase to two matches if he contests the charge at the judiciary and is found guilty.

The Knights have copped another blow, with forward Tyson Frizell also charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact following an incident involving Manly fullback Tom Trbojevic.

While Trbojevic was able to finish the match, Frizell is facing the same penalty as Young, with an early guilty plea resulting in a one-match suspension. That could rise to two matches should he unsuccessfully contest the charge at the judiciary.

Bulldogs forward Jonathan Sua is the third player to be suspended from Saturday's matches after being charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact on Dragons centre Moses Suli.

Sua is also facing a one-match suspension with an early guilty plea, while a failed challenge at the judiciary would see the ban increase to two matches.

Four players have also been fined by the MRC, including another Knights forward.

Jermaine McEwen has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Manly's Clayton Faulalo and, due to it being his third or subsequent offence, has been hit with a $3000 fine.

McEwen can avoid any additional penalty by taking the early guilty plea, but if he contests the charge and is found guilty, he will instead receive a two-match suspension.

Canterbury forward Jaemon Salmon has been charged twice and is facing a combined $2000 in fines.

Salmon received a $1000 fine for a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Jacob Webster, as well as a further $1000 fine for Grade 1 Dangerous Contact on Kyle Flanagan. Both penalties would increase by $500 if he contests the charges and is found guilty.

His Bulldogs teammates Jacob Kiraz and Jake Turpin have also been fined $1000 each.

Kiraz was charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact on Daniel Atkinson, while Turpin was cited for a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Dylan Egan.

Both players can accept their $1000 fines, with each penalty increasing by $500 should they elect to challenge the charges at Tuesday's judiciary and lose.
