Bulldogs five-eighth Kieran Foran is set for surgery on his injured toe tomorrow that will put the halfback out for the remainder of the 2018 season.

The 27-year old will have the ligaments reconstructed in the toe on his left foot, after earlier treatment did not heal the injury.

Foran will wear a moon boot for at least six weeks before starting a rehab program, and will undergo a full fitness program to to prepare him for the 2019 NRL season.

Canterbury are 3-8 on the season and sit in 15th position as they travel to Newcastle this Saturday to face the Knights.
