Melbourne Storm front-rower Tui Kamikamica is set to face a difficult choice on his future in the coming weeks after the Fijian captain has caught the interest of yet another club.
Yet to secure a contract for the 2026 season, Kamikamica is facing uncertainty for the first time in his first-grade career, and his time at the Storm could potentially come to an end sooner than expected.
A stalwart of the team since 2017, he has a club option in his contract for next season, but it is highly improbable that it will be picked up by the Victorian-based outfit, which is facing salary cap struggles.
Over the past few months, the 31-year-old has been linked to four different teams - Broncos, Cowboys, Knights, and Rabbitohs - but they have all decided to exit the hunt for him and instead try to recruit other players.
Speaking with News Corp, Kamikamica's manager confirmed that he has now gauged the interest of St Helens RLFC in the Super League, who announced the signing of Jacob Host from the Rabbitohs on Thursday.
However, it is understood that the forward would rather finish his career in Melbourne but would face a hefty pay cut of around $260,000.
"Tui would love to finish his career at Melbourne, but they have salary-cap pressures,” his manager Jeff Jurotte told News Corp.
"He has had an offer from the Storm, and he has interest from St Helens, but his preference is to stay in Australia.
"He was close to going to Souths with Wayne, but unfortunately, the deal fell through.
"I had some talks with the Broncos, but that didn't work out either.
"Tui is still in brilliant shape. If you look at him with his shirt off, he has one of the best physiques in the NRL.
"He has a young family and he's got commitments here, so ideally Tui can stay in the NRL."
