Melbourne Storm hooker Harry Grant has become one of the league's biggest players intending to test the open market on November 1st.

The Australian representative is signed to Melbourne until the end of 2028; however, a contract clause could make him a free agent in 2027 if activated.

With Grant's experience, he is a catch for rival clubs if they can secure his services.

Grant has not ruled out staying at the Storm, but if the club cannot match the bids of those wanting Grant, he might be leaving the Melbourne-based side.

A move to the Perth Bears has been formally ruled out, with Grant not wishing to stand in the way of former teammate Tyran Wishart, who has signed a multi-year contract with the NRL's newest club.

6. Parramatta Eels

With Ryley Smith off-contract at the end of 2027, Grant could provide the Eels with experience and a chance to contest the top eight once again.

Parramatta have not made finals footy since their NRL Grand Final loss to the Penrith Panthers in 2022 and have struggled to build momentum throughout the regular season.

Grant could become their starting hooker option, allowing Talyn Da Silva to come off the bench and do what he does best, as he has been doing in his last couple of seasons at Parramatta.

If Grant were to head to Parramatta, he and Mitchell Moses would look to unlock their Australian chemistry in the spine and could shape up to be one of the exciting spines in the competition, with young guns Isaiah Iongi and Ronald Volkman (or Jarome Luai if Grant was to go in 2027) also playing off the back of them.
