The Penrith Panthers have put star halfback James Maloney on the market, according to a report by Nine reporter Ben Dobbin.

Dobbin told The Footy Show that Maloney, who is currently sidelined due to a knee injury, is "definitely" being shopped by the club.

Additionally, Dobbin believes the Gold Coast Titans are keen to acquire the NSW Blues representative, having spoken to their coach Gareth Brennan earlier in the week.

“I spoke to Garth Brennan this week about the possibility of Maloney coming to the Titans,” Dobbin told The Footy Show.

“Garth was very clear that he’d love to have James Maloney at the Titans.

“He thought he’d be a great role model for Ash Taylor to mould his game and improve.

“It’s just whether or not you can get James Maloney to the coast and whether or not he’d like to ship his family.”

Maloney arrived at the Panthers at the start of this season on a three-year deal, with previous stints at the Storm, Warriors, Roosters and Sharks.
