The Sharks are targeting Eels forward Tepai Moeroa to potentially replace club great Paul Gallen next season, according to a report by Nine.
Set to come off contract, Moeroa is likely to leave Parramatta at the end of the season with links being made to NSW Waratahs to bring him back to rugby union.
Cronulla are in the market for a forward that can fill the void of Gallen and play big minutes, and Moeroa firms as a suitable successor.
The 23-year old is reportedly drawing interest from a number of rival NRL clubs.
He made his debut for the Eels in 2014 and has played 102 first-grade games.
