North Queensland Cowboys

8. Josh McGuire 9. Jake Granville 10. Jordan McLean 11. Gavin Cooper 12. Coen Hess 13. Jason Taumalolo

Other options: John Asiata, Kurt Baptiste, Scott Bolton, Corey Jensen, Francis Molo, Matthew Scott, Shane Wright

If the Cowboys are going to return to the finals this season it's going to be primarily off the back of this monstrous forward pack. The only player to have not played rep footy in their pack is Jake Granville, who by no means is a liability. Josh McGuire adds more steel to the team and even pushes captain Matt Scott to the bench. Taumalolo and Gavin Cooper have been crucial to the Cowboys success in the last five years.

  1. I suggest the author of this list is clueless.
Dogs definitely are the weakest but they should be closely followed by the raiders.
Storm are no where near third best either.
Dogs definitely last and are the weakest team from 1-17. The spoon is theirs to lose.

  2. The Cowboys? Granville has been riding off his 2015 season for the last few years, while Gavin Cooper struggled noticeably without Thurston in 2017. McLean hasn’t quite proven himself since he joined the Cowboys either. In my eyes, McGuire, Hess and Taumalolo are their only genuine consistent stars.

  3. You’ve missed Corey Horsburgh with the Raiders. Played for the Qld U20s State of Origin team last year and the Junior Kangaroos in a test where he ran for 174 metres including 64 post contact metres. Was outstanding in the trials for the Raiders. Horsburgh and Emre Guler should be on the bench for the Raiders this season backing up Papalii, Soliola, Sutton, John Bateman, Whitehead and Tapine..

  4. Eels and Tigers definitely have the worst packs in the NRL, not a single rep level player between them. Canterbury’s starting pack is half decent with a couple of origin and international players in there, but they have no front row depth. Bunnies pack for 2019 is overrated when you look at all the mistakes that their forwards make + losing Crichton.
