The Gold Coast Titans have officially handed AJ Brimson permission to explore his options on the open market.
The star fullback and five-eighth who has been forced out to the centres at the Titans due to a list of talent that is longer than the positions available, is on big money and contracted until the end of 2030, but is now unlikely to be located on the Gold Coast when the players return for the 2027 pre-season.
Brimson has made it clear he doesn't want to leave the Gold Coast in the past, but has also made no secret of the fact he wants to play at fullback.
With Keano Kini in front of him, one of those things simply isn't going to happen, and it appears wanting to play at fullback has won out.
Even this late in the piece as lead into 2027, Brimson will have plenty of suitors.
We have managed to identify seven clubs who could very easily make a play for him, so in order of least to most likely, here are the outfits who will be in with a chance.
1. Perth Bears
The biggest no-brainer on this list for potentially both Brimson and the Perth Bears is a move across the country to join the club in their foundation year.
The Perth Bears have been, and will continue to be, linked to every decent players with a chance to move for 2027.
They have four spots left, but must surely have plenty of cash in the bank.
The strength of the 26 players they have signed leaves serious questions about the way they will operate in their opening season, and whether they will actually be competitive.
That it's such a concern in league circles should tell you they need to make a play for AJ Brimson.
Their spine has enough in it, but Apa Twidle, Tyran Wishart, Toby Sexton and Tyson Smoothy doesn't scream premiership winning.
