The PNG Chiefs are set for the unveiling of their logo and release of their inaugural NRL jersey at a special event held in Port Moresby.
The club have confirmed the logo will first be revealed on October 21, and the jersey on October 22.
This marks the continued development behind the scenes of the club heading towards their first NRL match in 2028, with this announcement following plans to upgrade the capacity of their stadium and the securing of player, staff and family accomodation at the Airways Resort.
With no details yet released on the design of the logo, it is said to be inspired by the values upheld by the Papua New Guinean People, stemming from their cultural pride as the club aims to unite the country as a whole.
PNG Chiefs CEO Lorna McPherson said it would be an important moment for the club.
"Our logo will give our club a recognisable identity and symbol that our players, staff, sponsors, community and supporters can resonate with and truly call their own," she said.
The well documented recruitment drive of the Chiefs seemingly looks to be continuing after the Canberra Raiders granted Hudson Young to negotiate with the club.
With Nathan Cleary almost destined to test the open market come November 1st, an offer of up to $1.5 million a season is expected to be lodged by the Chiefs to reunite the four-time premiership winning halves combination.
McPherson has bookmarked the event as a "remarkable day of celebration - not only for the PNG Chiefs but for Papua New Guinea as a whole" with the logo set to be unveiled on the 21st of October, with the kit following the next day on the 22nd of October.
The reveal of the jersey will be the first chance that Chiefs supporters and NRL fans will be able to see what star signings Jarome Luai, Alex Johnston, Connor Watson, Matty Lees, Zac Lomax, Brian To'o and Joseph Manu will run out in for the clubs debut match.
The jersey will be deeply connected to the greater PNG community with a local artist designing their inaugural kit.
"It is a mark of pride for Papua New Guinea and for everyone who has believed in what this club can become, and we are incredibly excited to walk into the next era of the Chiefs in this way." CEO McPherson added.
The jersey will go on sale to fans on the 22nd of October after the release.
Further details on the logo launch on October 21 and jersey reveal on October 22 will be released by the PNG Chiefs closer to the event.
