Wigan Warriors centre Dan Sarginson is off contract at the end of the season and is wanted by at least two NRL clubs.

Gold Coast Titans are leading the chase for the England centre, while theย Melbourne Storm are also showing interest in the 22-year-old.

A few weeks ago, Sarginson said he was undecided about his long-term future.

He has just started his third year at Wigan, having been recruited by Shaun Wane from London Broncos.

  1. Why? He would be lucky to make first grade in the NRL!!
No disrespect towards him at all.. Tho SL is a few gears behind NRL and most SL backs don’t do well in Aus.
He could get a start at Newcastle tho lol

    • Hey mate I was talking to a Knights fan and he was talking about your salary cap saying how much Uate and Sione Matutia are on is it true that Uate is on like 500k and Matutia aint far behind?

      • apparently that’s true …but Uate and Matutia haven’t sent me their bank statements for this month

      • Hey Jacks,
Yes mate Uate is on 500k a season!! That contract was a 4yr deal signed in 2011.. Uate at the time was 2 time worlds best winger and got he’s 3rd best winger in the world in a row in 2011.
        2011 worlds best winger.
The club had no option but to give him that money as Union clubs and other NRL clubs were offering the same and upwards of 800k for Jap union clubs.
The 3 brothers Sione Pat and Chenal are reported as signed for 1.1mil a season.. Whom is getting what I am not sure… But again the club had no option at the time as the Doggies had offered massive money and the town was not happy to loss any of them.
Rumor ATM is Uate is being shopped to Jap rugby ATM to move him on for next yr!

        • Thanks for the reply mate thats huge money isnt it for a few wingers even the very good ones I am not sure what Radradra is on maybe an Eels fan knows? but id be amazed if its 500k. Isnt Snowden on huge money also? Though Brown looks like he wants him gone already.

My mate is not a happy knights fan atm.

        • If Semi was to sign a contract now.. He would get 500k with ease!! Comes down to what other clubs offer the player at the time more then what they are really worth.

Snowden is on 400k.. Though Tinkler wanted him 1000% back at Newcastle and at the time he was a SOO/AUS prop.. Played terrible last week… Was easily the worst player on the field.

        • Never been a huge fan of Snowden but he has had his moments. Do you think he will be there next year or will he even see out this year if Brown only played him for 20 odd minutes and you have those Sanfiti bros proably spelt that wrong.

Just thats alot of money for 3 blokes none of which play in the spine of a team. Radrada maybe he would command 500k but I wouldnt want my club paying tha much for him.

        • I’m not Snow dens biggest fan either!!! But he can be a very solid prop when he wants to be.

I’d personally try move him on and Uate.

That 900k plus by my estimate 500k the club already have in waiting… I’d go after-
          James Tamou 500ish k
          Locky Coote 300ish k
          John Falou 200ish k
And re-sign Rockow, Sims bros, and Saifiti bros.
Won’t happen that way though ๐Ÿ™

        • U mean to tell me Parra are paying unders?? Please!!
How many corporate boxes does he have in that contract??
          Only joking mate ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Sheens was bribed into selecting sione in aus team because he was off contract. The knights were then negotiating with an australian winger, not just a kid who is flat out cracking first grade side. That is why he is on rediculous money. Knights got swindled. Not the first time wont be the last. But you guys go ahead and keep blaming bennet, tinkler and who ever else for your weak clubs problems.

  2. He played with Joe Burgess last year having come through the ranks together. Both of them were getting huge wraps last year. Burgess came off the bench for the Roosters last week and scored two tries for them so I wouldn’t be so quick to write these youngsters off.

    • Burgess started the game in place of the injured Daniel Tupou, with Tupou now fit he comes back onto the wing with Burgess on an extended bench and I cannot see Robinson carrying a winger onto the bench with reduced interchange, even unlimited interchange would be a stretch.

Unless Tupou or Mitchell pull out Burgess wont play this week and he may not play much this season unless Mitchell is put back into the under 20s which IMO may be the best place for him atm.

        • He was named on an extended bench thats proably where the confusion came from. He looked alright in a badly beaten team good support player and very quick. IMO he needs to learn how to go to ground when he gets hit by a few blokes he seemed very easy to push back when coming outta trouble cause he kept standing upright instead of looking for the ground.

But all in all not a bad debut I would have him starting in front of mitchell and give more time to Latrell Mitchell in the under 20s to learn the fullbacks role and get more coaching from the Count

  3. It’d be good if Titans can sign him and Hurrel. They should go for Lachlan Coote and Adam Reynolds aswel.

    1. Coote
    2. MacDonald
    3. Hurrel
    4. Sarginson
    5. Hoffman
    6. Reynolds
    7. Taylor

They need a big clear out like Manly did. Get rid of Zillman, Mead, Don etc.

I’m only saying this because I hear Cowboys are making a big play for Elgey to play him alongside Thurston and Morgan back to fullback. Then in 2 years when JT retired Kalyn Ponga will take the FB spot and Morgan/Elgey will be the halves.

      • Yea he’s alright, but solid at best. Kinda like Maranta at the Broncos. I’d let all these players go-

Leva Li, David Mead, William Zillman, Josh Hoffman, Eddy Pettybourne, Lachlan Burr, Matt Robinson, Ryan Simpkins, Nathaniel Peteru, David Hala, Jeff Lynch, Nathan Friend, Matt Srama.

As replacements these would be my main targets

Greg Eden, Lachlan Coote, Konrad Hurrel, Francis Molo, Brenton Lawrence, Shaun Lane, Todd Symonds, Zane MusGrove, Manaia Cherington

I’m almost sure that Elgey will go and rather than try compete with other offers, go after Adam Reynolds. Elgey hasn’t proved himself yet and has the risk of reinjuring his ACL now.

        1. Coote (genuine playmaking FB)
        2. Eden (has so much potential, just needs a chance)
        3. McQueen (better centre than second rower)
        4. Hurrel (wrecking ball)
        5. MacDonald (looks like a good future player)
        6. Taylor (IMO best young half around)
        7. Reynolds (Calm, controls well, best kicker)
        8. Lawrence (high work rate can play big minutes also)
        9. Moseley (reminds me of Segyaro)
        10. Shillington (Old head, still plenty to offer)
        11. Lane (future origin player, huge body, can play the big minutes)
        12. Paasi (would be one of the best edge runners, aggressive to)
        13. Fensom (workhorse, IMO up there with the likes of Parker, Gallen)

        14. Musgrove (Huge unit, big minutes, will be a star)
        15. Taia (Strong good player, a lot of experience)
        16. Douglas ( Solid, reliable)
        17. James (Aggressive impact)
