Sydney's Latrell Mitchell discovered that he'd been axed for Origin II during his side's win over the Bulldogs on Sunday night, according to The Daily Telegraph.

It is understood that New South Wales and Rooster captain Boyd Cordner delivered the news to Mitchell while he was out on the SCG.

Furthermore, Roosters teammate Angus Crichton learnt that he'd been chopped from the Blues side during a live radio interview directly after the game.

Again it was Cordner who told Crichton the news to  the 22-year old on his birthday.

And yet nobody thought to inform Roosters Trent Robinson, who was not concerned by the way it all played out.

“No one has asked about how they are going and that is fine,” Robinson told The Daily Telegraph.

“If I was coaching that team I’d choose the players that I really wanted to be out there for game two.

“I am not going to sit here and bag Freddy.

“I like Freddy. He is a good man. I love the way he coaches.

“I know what it is like to be in the seat. So go after it, Freddy, how you like.”
