Warriors centre Gerard Beale is set to be sidelined for up to nine months after undergoing knee surgery on Monday.

The club announced the news via its official website after he suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Roosters.

The 29-year old fractured his patella after a collision with Sydney's Jared Waerea-Hargreaves eight minutes into the contest.

He is expected to return in May next year.
