Outside back Brad Morkos is set to be the next name to land at the Perth Bears for their inaugural season after making a successful return to the NSW Cup in recent weeks.

Morkos, once a junior representative player, was seen as the next big thing in the centres or on the wing.

So talented was he that a contract battle broke out for his services between junior club the St George Illawarra Dragons and Canberra Raiders.

The former NSW under-19 player eventually chose Canberra and made 40 NSW Cup appearances for the green machine before shocking the rugby league world at the end of 2023 and walking away from the sport altogether.

He has since played some local rugby league after also trying his hand at Mixed Martial Arts, but pushing for a jersey in the Lebanese team at the Rugby League World Cup this year, the outside back has returned to the NSW Cup with the Dragons over the last two weeks.

Morkos is yet to score, but has played one game in the centres and one on the wing.

Now it has been reported by Wide World of Sports The Mole that he will be heading across the country to join the Perth Bears in 2027.

Whether he is joining the club on a development deal, or claiming one of the club's four remaining Top 30 spots remains to be seen.

The Bears need marquee talent, but the signing of Morkos could be an intriguing one for the club as they look to build a competitive outfit over the years to come.

Morkos was set to take the world by storm before he took a break away from rugby league, and still has the skills to potentially push his way into a serious career that was once seemingly a guarantee.

Morkos, a former Australian Schoolboy, played four games for Lebanon in 2022 and would be a prime candidate to win a Lebanon jersey under Michael Cheika at this year's World Cup if he plays the final couple of weeks of the Dragons' struggling NSW Cup campaign at a high enough level.
