  1. Agreed Kev, he had 1 decent, 2nd man in hit, in his NRL career. Obviously the roosters didn’t see any future in him and passed him on. The downside for the Eels is, in their desperation to buy someone, they ended up with this waste of space.

  2. It’s the spine that’s really worrying me. I don’t have a problem with any of them individually, but the lack of collective experience, and lack of depth in those positions is a serious cause for concern.
We’d be lucky if they 200 games between them, and Moses is technically the veteran with the majority of that.
Covering injuries, we’ve got French at FB, Salmon in the halves, maybe Prichard at hooker, Smith or Hoffman as potential all rounders.
I’m happy for Gutho to get a crack at locking in FB, Moses the opportunity to lead the team, D.Brown and Mahoney the opportunity to own FG spots, but we simply can’t do it all in 1 hit, so the way I see it is, we need an experience hooker. That’s the key position to add strength/experience to our spine.

  3. WRONG…โ€ฆ.โŒโŒโŒโŒ He did very well under the Roosters coaching strategies.

The Sydney Roosters through their development program brought him through the lower grades from 2011 and then into the NSW Cup team at the time, Rooster players played for Newtown Jets before he made his NRL DEBUT in 2014 playing 9 games that season.

He was a permanent part of the Roosters bench and played in total 74 NRL games for the Sydney Roosters. Parramatta enticed him away with a generous contract to play in 2018. While at the Roosters he played 11 tests for Fiji. The Roosters had big plans for Evans but money got the better of him hence his departure to Parra and a massive fall in form playing just 8 NRL games for Parra.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘.

  4. Parra officials need to give Hastings a trunk call over their in the old dart and get him on the first plane back to Sydney. He can cover 5/8, halfback, Hooker and Fullback plus he is a goal kicker. Sorry Nick I let the cat out of the bag.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘

  5. Agreed, Evans hasn’t worked.
That said, I thought he was a great signing at the time because he was potentially exactly what we needed if we played him as an edge forward instead of prop. I don’t think we’ve really given that a go, and maybe that was never B.A’s thinking anyway (just mine), but either way it doesn’t really matter because he hasn’t worked.
For what’s it’s worth I think he was worth the punt, but it hasn’t, and probably won’t, pay off.

  6. Woody, I’m not having a crack, but I’d like to ask you a serious question.
What do you think the NRL should do re the Napa situation, and who/how should they pay?
I think we know each other well enough, through reading each others posts over the years, to be totally honest. If you were Todd Greenberg, all club loyalty aside, and be fair, how would you handle it?

  7. If i were you almighty id be worried about your centres. Jennings is a has been and takairangi was never a centre in the first place. And before you comment yes manly has backline problems too.

  8. Screaming, I wouldn’t refer to it as “loaded”, and I’m not having a crack as such. I don’t think it’s fair the Dogs effectively get penalised for this, by missing game time from what is their biggest recruit for the season, but Napa should be punished. Why not get a Roosters supporters perspective?

ManWar, I agree, to an extent with your comment on our centres. I’m O.K with M Jennings there, but admit he hasn’t been in his best form, but it’s the other centre spot that worries me. I still think hooker is the most important gap to fill for us, but an experienced centre is second, and a higher priority than another big forward, which is part of the reason I didn’t want Burgess, and I was shocked by the older rumour that we were looking at R Jennings, given we have numerous wingers.

  9. Well seen as though you are not having a quack ๐Ÿฆ† I suppose the best way to deal with the Napa case is as follows. I reckon its not the clubs (Roosters) responsibility for personal behaviour in a players personal time. What he gets up to in his life is his choice and he is responsible for his own actions. So the Roosters should not be fined nor should the new club Canterbury suffer from a major signing and not knowing that he is doing silly behaviour away from football. So if the NRL are genuinely concerned and want to make players accountable for their stupid behaviour that has not harmed anybody physically. I would suggest to the NRL to fine Napa and fine him severely maybe 50k. After one player cops a big fine I’m sure no other players will do it in the future as hitting the hip pocket really rams home the punishiment.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘

  10. Agreed Woodchook. Financially penalise the player for stupidity on their own time. The club should only come into it if it is proven that they tried top cover it up.

  11. Sounds fair and reasonable to me too.
As per above, I wasn’t having a crack, I just wanted to see if you thought the Dogs should just have to wear the suspension.

  12. I stopped smoking in 1974 when a pack of 20’s cost 42 cents. ๐ŸšฌโŒI haven’t blown a joint since 1969 when way out man, I walked on the moon via my black and white TV.

  13. I still believe Evans will get back to his best form and be a big part of Parra’s return to the eight. He is a really good runner and safe defender. Prop was his best position at the Roosters.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘

  14. I wasn’t asking about cigarettes or pot. I meant that Ajax stuff you carry around in your pockets. You know the stuff you steal from nurse ratched when she comes to clean your toilet.
