The Parramatta Eels are continuing their priority keeping their homegrown talent by extending two of their junior stars, Steven Nunn and Liam Martin.
Martin and Nunn are two Eels stars in the rep ranks who have showcased a bright future in rugby league, making the Australian Schoolboys teams this season.
Code Sports have reported that prop Nunn signed an additional year on to his original contract, now keeping him until the end of the 2029 season, while Martin, who plays fullback, has signed a two-year deal to the end of the 2028 season.
Nunn will take part in the Eels' 2027 pre-season before progressing to a development deal in the 2028 season and then elevating to the top 30 in 2029.
Since leaving New Zealand in 2025, Nunn has played a significant role in the Eels' SG Ball side this season.
Parramatta have been impressed with Nunn, who left New Zealand to pursue his rugby league dream, bringing him up to the Jersey Flegg team and making two starts in his eight appearances.
Currently a student at Patrician Brothers College in Blacktown, he was a standout in the combined Catholic Colleges squad at this year's Australian Secondary Schoolboys National Championships competition.
His performances earned him a spot in the Schoolboys squad, where he will become one of the first New Zealanders to participate since Jason Tamualolo.
Liam Martin is Australia's Schoolboys fullback and a National Championships winner with Combined High Schools, defeating Nunn and the CCC squad.
While progressing through SG Ball, Martin will train with the NRL squad in 2028.
Both Eels juniors will travel to Papua New Guinea for the junior Kangaroos when they play against the Junior Kumuls in October.
Recently, Hayden Bell signed a deal with the club for the next two seasons and will train with the NRL side this upcoming preseason with coach Jason Ryles.
Earlier this year, Nunn had extended his deal with the Eels until the end of the 2028 season.
After a quality season from the front-rower, he is set to earn a long-term extension.
Last week, the Eels announced the extensions of three of their juniors.
Saxon Pryke and Christoper Petrus signed for two more seasons, keeping them until the end of the 2028 season, and Ryda Talagi has signed until the end of the 2029 season.
Pryke has made a strong impression on Ryles this season, playing significant minutes in the Eels' most recent games, particularly against the Sharks.
Ryda Talagi, younger brother of current Penrith Panthers talent Blaize, made his debut against the Sharks.
The Eels play against the Dragons on Sunday afternoon to finish the season.
