The St George Illawarra Dragons are hoping to have Gareth Widdop and Josh Dugan back in their lineup for their Round 13 clash against the Wests Tigers.

Currently sitting third on the ladder, the return of Dugan and Widdop will be a major boost for the club that has been in great form.

The Dragons only trail the Canberra Raiders in points scored this season and they have played one less game after the bye last round. In fact, the club only needs to score 73 more points to surpass their points scored from last season.

Widdop hasn't played since Round 8 and still considered only a slight chance to play but participated in the team's field session yesterday.

Dugan, on the other hand, has missed the Dragons last two matches with a fractured cheekbone and is currently in camp with the NSW Blues. Dugan will play State of Origin on Wednesday and if he comes through unscathed, he should be right to play on Saturday for his club.

The Dragons will name their Round 13 side this afternoon.
