Broncos skipper Darius Boyd has issued his loyalty to Brisbane, saying he won't follow Wayne Bennett out of the club for a fourth time if he is replaced by Craig Bellamy.

The 30-year old veteran joked that he was "almost done anyway."

“I love the Broncos and I’ll definitely be staying,” Boyd told reporters.

Boyd earned his debut for the Broncos in 2006 under Bennett, before following him to the Dragons from 2009, then to the Knights in 2012, and back to the Broncos in 2015.

But Boyd has denied he any any type of 'Bennett clause' in his contract, saying he is firmly aligned with the Broncos.

“Brisbane has always been my favourite club and the club I always followed, since I was six years old," he said.

“I never wanted to leave in the first place, but an opportunity presented itself for a number of reasons to go with Wayne and I’m very grateful for the experience I’ve had to be with Wayne all these years.

“I hope he doesn’t go because it would be sad to part ways with him.”

Boyd, who has played under the likes of Kevvie Wallters, Ricky Stuart and Mal Meninga throughout his career, claims he would not be opposed to having a new coach, but was admittedly shocked to hear Bennett might leave Brisbane.

“It has surprised me a little bit, but in saying that, it is a business,” Boyd said.

“Whatever way you look at it, if that is the end for Wayne then obviously the club are looking for a succession plan and if not, then Wayne has plenty more years to coach depending on how it all works out.”
