Queensland legend Billy Moore has unveiled his Queensland Origin I team on Fox League's Queenslanders Only.

Moore has left out veteran prop Matt Scott, who has not played Origin since 2016 but recently declared his keenness to return to the stage.

“I wanted McGuire, Papalii and Arrow in my starting team,” Moore said.

“I wouldn’t bring Scott off the bench but I wouldn’t have a problem if you found a spot for him, it’s obviously just moving the other players around.

“(Joe) Ofahengaue has gone off the boil a bit in recent weeks.”

Moore has opted for two rookies in his team, Melbourne's Christian Welch and Brisbane's David Fifita, both featuring on the bench.

  1. Don’t think Ben hunt could hack starting and finishing at hooker at origin level. He can’t handle big game pressure. So because of that I’d play Jake Friend there as he is a good leader, makes tackles and has more attacking game than McCullogh. Would then move Hunt to the bench and drop Fifita out. Think the kid is quite overrated and hasn’t proven to be that good yet. (Like a lot of Brisbane’s young forwards)
The other 2 changes I’d make would be Glasby and Hess in for Welch and Wallace. Wallace is a softie who isn’t consistent enough and Welch is similar to Glasby but not as good. Hess also adds some more size and ability to the bench.
Like that’s he’s given mention to Ofahengaue cause I’d say bench spots are close between Glasby and Hess and the chasing Wallace, Ofahungue and co
