The NRL season has just weeks remaining, and the best moments might still be to come with the finals and closing stages of the race for the top eight, but already we have been treated to some brilliant rugby league.

From golden point thrillers to high-scoring nail-biters, big crowds and the an Origin series in the books, it's the sport that never sleeps, and with sports betting, you'll be able to predict exactly how the remainder of the 2024 NRL season plays out.

Here are the best moments of the 2024 NRL season to date.

Vegas gets the party started

Neither of the games were that good, but the NRL took a giant leap by heading to Las Vegas to kick start the 2024 NRL season.

The Manly Sea Eagles got the better of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, and the Sydney Roosters beat the Brisbane Broncos in a match marred by controversy.

The NRL are heading back to Vegas next year and will need more crowd-wise to make it a long-term success, but the signs are there.

A miracle try on the bell for Storm in Round 2

Sometimes, you have to sit back and simply admire the talent of rugby league players. This sport never fails to amaze, and so it was in Round 2 when Xavier Coates flew for the heavens to score a last-minute try and sink the New Zealand Warriors.

In fact, it was a game Melbourne seemed destined to lose. After three tries in the opening 21 minutes, they were behind until Ryan Papenhuyzen found his way over in the 77th, with even that try leaving them behind.

Two tries in the final three minutes. Warriors fans won't agree, but it doesn't get much better.

Tigers sink Eels in last minute thriller on Easter Monday

Easter Monday has fast become one of the best games on the calendar as two traditional Sydney rivals - the Tigers and Eels - square off.

While it hasn't turned into a great season for either team, the Tigers weren't expected to do much during the Round 4 clash, but after a tight encounter all the way, would kick a 79th minute field goal to sink the Eels in the clash for the second time in a row.

It gave hope that the joint-venture were on the turn. It hasn't happened, but it's games like that which will leave their fans with something to take out of the difficult season.

Magic in Brisbane

Magic Round has fast become a must-attend event for every rugby league fan. The NRL descends on Brisbane for eight games, 16 teams in one spot, and a weekend of rugby league.

Round 11 this year saw nailbiters all weekend. From the Raiders beating the Bulldogs to the opener, the Broncos needing a field goal to sink the Sea Eagles, the Sharks winning a 38-30 thriller over the Roosters on Saturday, and the Warriors sinking the Panthers in a Sunday afternoon thriller, the round really did have it all this year.

Every game was played to a full house, and it would take a brave man to suggest the same won't happen next season.

Maguire's Blues flip Origin series to pull off Suncorp miracle

Game 1 of this year's State of Origin series saw Joseph Suaalii sent off seven minutes in and the Maroons run away with a 38 points to 10 win.

Even after the Blues took Game 2 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, it appeared the series was still dead and buried. Winning a decider at Lang Park hadn't been done for almost 20 years.

And yet, in a nailbiter with no points until almost halftime, the Blues found a way to get the job done, taking out a thrilling 14-4 win.

Cleary's return sparks Panthers' push for four straight

When you were circling games in your calendar during the pre-season, a random Sunday afternoon fresh off the Origin period at the foot of the mountains as the Panthers clashed with the Dolphins.

But it turned into Nathan Cleary's return party. He would kick a two-point field goal to break the ice at the end of a high-scoring, tight affair, and it has seemingly given Penrith momentum that they look unlikely to give up over the closing stages of the season.

Crowds on the up

And lastly, this doesn't relate to any specific games, but crowds have been as good as they have been at any point in the NRL era this year.

As it stands, the home and away season is averaging a staggering 19,754 per game. That's up over 100 per game on last year, which was a 20-year record in itself.

It has been awesome to see.
