The Parramatta Eels have announced the re-signing of Will Smith to a new two-year deal that will see him remain in Blue and Gold until the end of the 2020 season.

Head Coach Brad Arthur said, “Will Smith has been a consistent performer since he joined us in 2016 and he showed last season how valuable his contribution is to our team across multiple positions.”

“I am pleased that he has signed with us for a further two years and I am sure our Members and fans will continue to be supportive of him as he progresses his career through to the 2020 season.”

“One of the keys to our squad over the last couple of years is stability in our retention and recruitment strategy, and I am sure this will continue especially with the added incentive of playing out of the new Western Sydney Stadium from 2019.”

  1. He was alright for Parramatta last year. Not so good when he used to play at Penrith.
I just hope that re signing Smith isn’t an indication of a lack of rising talent at Parramatta.

    • If Smith was just “alright”, I’d take “alright” anyday.

I’m very happy he re-signed, and very happy with our talent pool.

  2. I’m glad you’re happy. You weren’t at Pentith a couple of years ago when he was so scared of dropping the kicks ( after missing several ), that he just let it bounce. Those drops cost them the game. He used to drop passes often as well.
Was surprised to see him actually do some good things & help Parramatta win last year.
Just wait for a vital time if he gets to play fullback again. Dropsies not to far away.

  3. Good signing Parra.
Here we go season 2018 and Parra are looking very organised thanks to Brad Arthur.
