One of the most competitive positions in the entire NRL is centre where speed, skill, strength and defence are all necessary to succeed. These are 10 players that have excelled in the centres. Croker has an ability to find the line, possesses great speed and is a determined leader that the Raiders rely on. Dugan is strong both with and without the ball and while he’s not the most natural centre, he has shown he’s capable of representing Australia and New South Wales in the role. While he will continue to improve, Scott looks to be the complete package as a centre, slotting right into one of the most professional teams in the NRL with ease. Jennings boasts incredible speed and has over a decade of experience in the game, making him an incredible threat. Aitken’s strength and attacking ability have helped the Dragons become one of the best-attacking outfits in 2018 and there are plenty suggesting he should represent the Blues this year. Hiku is a well-rounded player, boasting plenty of speed and strength, but his ball-playing and offloading ability have allowed him to reach a new level this season. Inglis has shown he is one of the strongest players in the game and he still boasts speed as well as a try-scoring ability. Mitchell is scoring for fun at the moment and as his defence improves he is rapidly becoming one of the best centres in the game. Roberts is one of the fastest players in rugby league and is an incredible try-scorer that will continue to improve. His exceptional defence is matched by his strong attacking ability that has made him one of the first players selected in both the Australian and Queensland teams.
