The Storm are set to announce the re-signing of Nelson Asofa-Solomona, with rivals failing to steal the youngster from Melbourne.

At 200cms and over 115kgs, Asofa-Solomona is one of the biggest players in the NRL and his re-signing for Melbourne will be a huge bonus for the club with Tohu Harris and Cooper Cronk leaving at the end of the season.

21-year-old Asofa-Solomona has played 39 games for Melbourne and despite his youth, is an integral component to their team.

It hasn't just been other NRL clubs the Storm have been worried about signing their star youngster though, with reports last year Asofa-Solomona had been in talks with the New Zealand Rugby Union.

Storm fans will be very happy to hear that the new two-year deal is set to be announced next week.
