More than four months removed from November 1, there are still 136 NRL currently Top 30 contracted NRL players without a club to call home for 2027.

The Perth Bears still have more than half of their inaugural Top 30 to fill, and most clubs are in need of players, whether re-signed or otherwise, to complete their look and feel for 2027.

When you run the rule over the list of players who remain off-contract at the end of 2026, there is still a mountain of talent available.

Taking into account the likely value to a rival club - age, talent and potential included (for example, Cody Walker has been left out as he approaches the end of his career) - here are the Top 20 players to remain without a contract for 2027.

Siua Wong was originally named in this list, however, it has since emerged he has re-signed with the Roosters during the off-season.

22. Phillip Sami (Gold Coast Titans)

Experience and consistency is the biggest seeling point for Phillip Sami when it comes to his next NRL contract - and he will certainly land one somewhere, even if it isn't on the Gold Coast.

A two-time State of Origin representative from Queensland's "worst team ever" in the 2020 series, Sami has 143 games under his belt, and also has 73 tries to show for it.

The Ipswich-born hard-running outside back can play in the centres or on the wing, and has been a permanent part of the Titans' outfit since he made his NRL debut for the club back in 2017.

His days as a one-club player appeared to be reaching the end of their tether not all that long ago, and while the Titans do appear to have now had a chance of heart, it may not be enough to keep Sami on the Gold Coast if other clubs come knocking.

There was plenty of speculation that the Perth Bears - with Mal Meninga who has worked with Sami at Parkwood as head coach - were going to make a play for the outside back.

It's gone quiet, but don't be surprised if it's still bubbling away somewhere.
