We've reached the halfway point of the 2025 NRL season, and the competition is still tighter than ever. Just six points separate 5th place from last, meaning the Top 8 could look very different come finals time.

3St George-Illawarra Dragons: Poorly managed roster

The Dragons are currently sitting in the slums of the NRL, but unlike fellow bottom sides like the Titans, Knights, and Tigers, St. George has very little to be excited about when it comes to success down the line.

It has been a tough road for St. George-Illawarra Dragons fans, with their club seemingly making constant poor decisions that leave many NRL buffs scratching their heads.

With the club pulling out of the race for Selwyn Cobbo, letting Jack De Belin go, and possessing an aging roster led by Kyle Flanagan, the question of what one thing is holding the Dragons back from a premiership in 2025 is moot.

It should be, will we see them win a premiership in the next 10 years?

It's clear that the Dragons need a complete roster overhaul, and while shining lights like the Couchman twins, Hamish Stewart, and Dylan Egan provide some light at the end of the tunnel, it is not nearly enough to save them from more years of NRL mediocrity.
