The Melbourne Storm have confirmed ten player departures at the end of 2026, with Keagan Russell-Smith and Marion Seve the latest to join the list.

Confirmed at the club's awards night on Sunday evening, the Storm bid farewell to both Seve, who has been a long-term outside back for the Victorian based outfit, and young half Russell-Smith who at 23 hasn't quite capitalised on his potential.

The duo join eight already confirmed departures.

The most recently announced of those was Joe Chan, who has been released early to join the North Queensland Cowboys at the start of 2027, while Melbourne have also confirmed Shawn Blore (Brisbane Broncos), Tui Kamikamica (retired), Nick Meaney (Perth Bears), Davvy Moale (Manly Sea Eagles), Will Warbrick (New Zealand Warriors) and Tyran Wishart (Perth Bears) are leaving.

Lazarus Vaalepu rounds out the group, but has already departed to the English Super League.

Seve, born in Ipswich and now 31 years of age, has played 52 games for the Storm since his debut back in 2019.

Able to play at centre or on the wing, the three-time Samoan representative has been around the fringes of Melbourne's squad for much of his career, with his best season coming in 2022 when he played 15 games.

He also played double digit games in his first year, 2019, and 2023, but has played just six games since that season, with only one coming in 2026.

Despite his lack of use as part of Craig Bellamy's plans, he has been extended on predominantly single year deals throughout his career, but that now comes to an end.

Russell-Smith, on the other hand, debuted with the Storm in 2024.

Given plenty of praise by some of his more experienced teammates prior to debut, Russell-Smith has been buried behind a long list of spine players at Melbourne, including the already departed Jonah Pezet, but has failed to breakthrough for more time this year, having debuted in Round 26 of the 2024 season against the North Queensland Cowboys off the bench, and played one game since at the top level.

A strong performer at NSW Cup level and now handy depth at the top level, the 23-year-old may well chase a return to Sydney, or a contract in England beyond the end of this year.
