North Queensland centre Justin O'Neill remains in Canberra Hospital after suffering a serious injury during his side's win over the Raiders last Saturday.

O'Neill suffered a "severe spleen injury", and was moved from the ICU to the Acute Surgical Ward on Wednesday as he continues to recover.

Doctors have told the 28-year-old and North Queensland they still want to monitor him for at least another week, meaning O'Neill will stay in Canberra until at least Thursday, June 6.
