The Parramatta Eels have provided an update on inured duo Manu Ma’u and Stefano Utoikamanu via the club website.

Both Ma'u and Utoikamanu suffered setbacks in the team's final pre-season trial clash with the Panthers and will miss several weeks.

Ma'u will be aiming to return in the club's round six meeting with the Wests Tigers after suffering an MCL injury.

It is disappointing news for the Tongan international, who only just made his return from a cheekbone injury sustained midway through last year.

Utoikamanu is not expected to play until around round nine after hurting his ankle.

  1. Ma’u isn’t that big a loss. He was very average last year up until he got injured.
We have m9re than enough 2nd rowers to cover him.
I still think dogs are the spoon favourites.
