Parramatta will host Canterbury in what will be a crunch match for the Bulldogs, given the position of both teams on the ladder.

The Eels currently occupy the eighth spot on the table with eight wins this season, while the Bulldogs are languishing in 13th with just six victories.

Another loss could see the Dogs fall out of touch with the top eight, although they will be buoyed by the return of Brett Morris on the wing.

It’s not all good news for the Bulldogs on the selection front though, with James Graham and Greg Eastwood both missing the clash.

The Eels will be without Beau Scott and Kaysa Pritchard for the rest of the season after the pair succumbed to injuries, but they’ve welcomed back Cameron King at hooker.

Parramatta has won three of their past four and will look to continue on their winning ways in this one.

Eels by 6.

  1. definately no dogs fan but even blind freddy could see they were robbed last night , and that so called strip that got the eels the win with a penalty .. when you plan to drop the ball on purpose to milk a penalty , should be classed a knock on , get it right next time ref you cost a lot of people money

  2. Agood gritty game ruined by the pocket ref.
The main ref called a knock on which was overulled by the pocket ref.

Look at the replay no way that was a strip.
Woll Archer come out and clarify with no punishment.

Let me go into my work today make mistakes that I shouldnt make by overuling someone and have no concequences .

    Where do I sign?

2 point robbed from the dogs.

    • You guys had plenty of opportunities to score enough points to win by a big margin but didn’t. You spent the second half camped on the Eels line and you halves could not take advantage, that is why they lost the game. You cannot blame one decision for the loss. It was a 50/50 call that could have very easily went either way.

As billy mentioned below, what about the blatant shepherd by Reynolds that wasn’t called, with a try coming in the set following? What about the 50/50 call for a penalty try that went the Bulldogs way? What about no penalties against the Bulldogs for slowing the ruck in the second half?

At the end of the day both teams were very ordinary and a draw probably would have been a fitting result, but the Eels took advantage of an opportunity presented to them, something the Bulldogs struggled to do.

  3. Seriously you guys are complaining about one penalty blown against your mob in 45 mins of play? Thats just clutching at straws.
Lack of penalty try at 2nd minute mark, consistent legups to doggies througout the second half through penalties and poor decision making by the eels….lack of clear shepherd being penalised and try scored two plays later….penalty count for 43 minutes was 6-1 to the dogs, eels last penalty was at 39m, then at 82 minutes.
both teams were awful in attack last night but claiming one penalty changed the outcome.. thats making the referees the scapegoat for poor performance.
lichaa had his hands all over the ball and as in most games, those penatlies are always a 50-50 call and for once it went the way of the eels.
In all reality neither team deserved to win based on their attack…..i am biased, but eels deserved it due to their defence in 2nd half. Possession was 70-30 in 2nd half and dogs still struggled to score.

  4. My biggest grievance from this game is how was that not a penalty try??

Definitely not a penalty in my eyes for the strip but I also agree with Filter that Parra should have got a penalty for Matagi tackle.

Average game by both teams TBH, good defence by Parra but poor options coming out of the 20m a lot of times. The fact they lost Ma’u for most the game was a huge factor. Also Doggies have serious problems in attack and I don’t see Foran improving them that much and Hoppa needs to play centre

  5. I thought Cameron King had a solid game last night as well..

I’m an eels supporter I thought Moeroa lost the ball too. Was not stripped at all, the ball carrier has to have some responsibility.
But in the 2nd min that was definitely a penalty try no doubt about it.
Or Moses had to do is put he’s hand on the ball and it’s a try instead he gets pushed off the ball…

Eels need Vave and Terepo back and frank Pritchard these are big boys we missed them last night! The bulldogs forwards killed us last night
