Cronulla Sharks have signed two Queensland talents to head over to Sydney until the end of the 2028 season.

The Sharks have landed twin brothers Grayson and Nikorima Wharakura, a move confirmed by their management, Sports Vision Management.

The brothers moved from New Zealand in 2023 to chase their rugby league dream.

They left Ngā Taiatea Wharekura, which is a co-ed secondary school in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Before arriving in Australia, they played for Tūrangawaewae RL and the Manurewa Marlins, known as grassroots community rugby league clubs.

Grayson and Nikorima signed with the Melbourne Storm in 2023 until the end of 2025 and would make the Queensland U15 rep side six months after arriving in Australia.

Grayson and Nikorima also attended Marsden State High School, known for having an award-winning Sports Excellence Program.

Marsden State High accepts 272 students into the rugby league program every year.
