The North Queensland Cowboys have been struck with another injury blow after hooker Jake Granville suffered a broken leg on the weekend.
The Townsville Bulletin reports that Granville was injured late in the Cowboys win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Granville played on believing the injury to only be a cork.
Officials have since confirmed that he has a fractured fibula and will miss up to six weeks of football.
To make matters worse, the club lost backup hooker Josh Chudleigh just before Christmas break to an ACL injury.
Ben Hampton has been named in the No.9 jersey for the Cowboys Round 6 match against the Wests Tigers, with Kalyn Ponga added to the bench to cover the utility role.
