Preview

Brisbane will be looking to make it two wins on the trot and keep their position in the top four this weekend, as they host the 13th placed Bulldogs.

Queensland due Matt Gillett and Josh McGuire have returned to the Broncos’ side, although Darius Boyd has not been named despite initial reports suggesting he could be back in the frame to return.

For Canterbury, their Origin trio of Brett Morris, David Klemmer and Josh Jackson have all returned to the starting line-up, with Kerrod Holland, Asipeli Fine and Andy Saunders all moving down to the reserves.

The Dogs are just two wins outside the eight but have a poor points differential, meaning they’ll need to register some big wins in the final seven rounds if they’re any chance to play finals.

Their quest for a post-season berth won’t start on Thursday night, as Brisbane shouldn’t have too much trouble disposing of Canterbury.

  1. obviously another game where the ref needs to help bennets bitches they should learn to win games without referees always helping

  2. A much better performance by the Broncos, with plenty of second phase play. Nikorima, Glenn, Pengai Jnr, Ofahengaue, and even Thaiday were excellent in both their offensive and defensive contributions. Moga, Roberts, Milford, Hunt, McCullough, McGuire and Gillet were very good offensively but their defence wasn’t good enough. Particularly Hunt who missed a whopping 6 tackles. Blair and Sims underperformed yet again as did Pearson (who should be dropped for Isaako). Kahu’s performance was much improved and his goal kicking was again excellent. That said, Jordan still needs to improve his contribution in terms of hit ups and run metres.

    • Maybe Bulldogs need to work on their discipline. I can’t remember any penalties that weren’t justified.

      • Sorry mate but there is no way that some of those should have been blown. Blocking – see it every game 10 times and its never a penalty. Open you eyes.

        • A crack down on this due to origin. Seriously though, Bulldogs were never going to be a threat last night. This season is just a transition to next.
