Sydney Roosters forward Naufahu Whyte continues to hold the overall lead in Zero Tackle's NRL MVP with just three rounds to go.

Whyte was the only player from inside the top ten who registered a vote during Round 24, managing 4 during the Roosters win over the Penrith Panthers.

That extends the forward's overall lead to six votes, with Dylan Edwards, Scott Drinkwater, Nathan Cleary and Haumole Olaku'atu all remaining the top five.

Braydon Trindall's hopes of winning the MVP have been dashed after his shoulder injury, while James Tedesco retains his spot in seventh.

Kalyn Ponga was the only player to come into the top ten on the back of 16 votes, and now sits in eighth spot, with Sua Fa'alogo and Nicho Hynes rounding the out the top ten.

Daly Cherry-Evans, Jamayne Isaako, David Fifita, Fletcher Sharpe and Toby Couchman were the players voted at the top by all four judges during Round 24, while Joseph Tapine, Owen Pattie, Apa Twidle, Tallyn Da Silva, Mitchell Barnett and Chanel Harris-Tavita were also voted as man of the match by at least one judge.

Of the players managing 20 votes, the best placed are Toby Couchman and Fletcher Sharpe in 32nd and 33rd respectively.

With a maximum of 60 votes left for players (and 40 if a club has a bye), only the top ten mentioned earlier remain in a mathematical position to challenge for top spot at the end of the season.
