Australia Rugby League announce new chairman

The Australian Rugby League Commission have unveiled Peter V'landys as its new chairman.

He will take the reigns from Peter Beattie on October 30, who will remain a commission member, as announced on Monday.

V'landys was thrilled to move into his new role.

"In the meantime, there is a lot of exciting football to take place as we head into the finals series and we look forward to concentrating on that," he told told NRL Media.

V'landys is also the chief executive of Racing NSW.
