New Zealand Warriors v St George Illawarra Dragons

FMG Stadium, Friday Night

After last week's catastrophic collapse, the only way is up for these Warriors, isn't it?

After blowing a 28-6 lead to the Panthers, there's no doubting they'll want to put those demons behind them, however, they'll have to defy history after having lost 20 of their 25 meetings with the Dragons.

They do come up against a wounded Dragons, however, without superstars Josh Dugan and Gareth Widdop, which may mean it's the best time to forget last week's debacle against a side that's lost three in a row since sitting atop of the NRL ladder.

Keiran Foran's first half work was exemplary and he will look to build on that against rookie play-maker Kurt Mann, who coach Paul McGregor has decided to stick with in the halves.

The Dragons need a win to avoid slipping further down the ladder ahead of the Origin period, where they'll likely miss the services of their in-form prop Paul Vaughan.

Their ability to score points coupled with the Warriors streaky defence will give them confidence, however, it's tough to see them adding to their 80% win rate against their trans-Tasman opponents.

Warriors by 10.
