The Perth Bears have officially unveiled their club logo ahead of their long-awaited return to the NRL in 2027, marking a major milestone in the game's expansion into Western Australia.

The logo pays clear homage to the North Sydney Bears' rich history while embracing a bold new identity in the west, designed by lifelong Bears supporter and graphic designer Dave Carnovale.

Perth Bears CEO Anthony De Ceglie said the club was determined to strike the right balance between heritage and future ambition.

"The Perth Bears are a new club, but that will never change the fact that the birthplace and spiritual home of the ‘Bears' in rugby league will always be North Sydney," De Ceglie said.

"We're proud that our Bear has been developed from within North Sydney, but with an eye on the future.

"We truly believe it's something both North Sydney fans and West Australian fans can get behind."

Head coach Mal Meninga echoed those sentiments, describing the Bears as one united club despite spanning opposite sides of the country.

"This is one club, one family, across two coasts," Meninga said.

"This Bear honours the proud history of the Bears while embracing the energy of Western Australia."

The logo has also received strong backing from Bears legends Greg Florimo and Billy Moore, as well as Western Reds icon Mark Geyer.

"Great legacies don't disappear, they evolve," Florimo said.

"I'm excited to see the North Sydney Bear reimagined in WA."

Carnovale said the design was intended as a "responsible evolution" of the Bears' DNA.

“This logo represents the restoration of the Bears' place in the game they helped create, bridging heritage with future-readiness,” he said.

The club will now begin merchandise roll-outs as hype continues to grow throughout the NRL.
