Last season the average age in the NRL was 24.4. The Wests Tigers had the youngest average at 23.4 while the South Sydney Rabbitohs' took the title of the oldest team, with an average age of 25.3.

The NRL seemingly becomes younger and younger every year, with more young stars breaking through the ranks.

There are players one or two years into their careers who are arguably the best, or one of the best, players at their position.

1. Reece Walsh - 19

Debuting for the New Zealand Warriors last season, Reece Walsh's impact on the game was instant.

At only 19, Walsh is full of talent that it's bursting at the seams of his jersey.

Able to kick goals, set up teammates and score tries from anywhere on the field, Walsh is as dynamic a fullback as there is in the competition. Ruled out of his Queensland Maroons debut last year with an injury, Walsh will be looking to make up for it in 2022.

Running 166 metres per game with three try assists, 27 tackle breaks and kicking goals at 95 per cent in his first five games this year, he's one of the biggest reasons the Warriors can be competitive.
