The 2026 NRL season is set to kick-off on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, with 16 teams out to chase the Brisbane Broncos in the new campaign.
Every club will see key reasons why they can and can't perform in 2026, and Zero Tackle have pulled the key one on each side of the coin.
Gold Coast Titans
Why they can: Josh Hannay
Incoming coach Josh Hannay has all the potential to be an excellent leader at NRL level, and the Titans should improve under his guidance, even if not immediately.
With a wave of re-signings led by captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, along with boom rookie Cooper Bai, it has instilled a great level of confidence around the coastal club that they are building to a strong and successful future.
Why they can't: Depth issues
Outside of Tino, the club's forward pack is lacking in depth, and a few injuries to costly positions will really weaken their roster.
The club also needs to finalise its plan on what they are doing with Brimson, Campbell and Kini and stick to it. Unfortunately, Campbell is not the chief playmaking seven moving forward.

Objective: To say in one article what everyone else says, and to say what everyone else does _not_ say.
Who said that ? Was it Nietzsche ?
Well, whoever it was, he’d be proud to have written this one, Scott.
