South Sydney Rabbitohs fullback Alex Johnston faces an uncertain future, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The report states that the 24-year old has been in talks with the Wests Tigers in recent weeks.

It comes as the Souths have been linked to Melbourne Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr, who could join them next season.

It is believed that the Storm are not keen to release Addo-Carr from the final two years of his contract.

However, he is a Souths junior and reportedly keen to return to Sydney.

  1. Alex Johnson is not a fullback, glad the rabbits finally found that out. Should look for someone cheap and young to replace him, Corey Allan and someone else can compete for the fullback spot.
Then with the money they save they should go after a prop to replace Sammy Burgess

  2. Yes true chookstir, Souths do not require a trophy room. When Crowe purchased the 2014 premiership they had to hand back to the NRL that Trophy.
Our Roosters have it in their full trophy cabinet since 2018. Souths have nothing to show off.

  3. However back to the story. We all saw how hopeless Johnston is at fullback in that semi loss 30-6 against the Roosters.

Johnstone, Gagai and Walker have been linked to stories recently for a quick escape from the dump they call Souths.

  4. In regards to Johnston, the best thing for them to do is either let him go or try to get him to play on the wing. I think this year, especially the Roosters Souths Quarter Final really caught out Johnston (admittedly he had only just returned to the position). Even then though, I don’t think he is reliable enough or skilful enough to be a great fullback. I think if he doesn’t get the boot, this will be his make or break year in regards to fullback
