The last few seasons have seen a number of young prospects sign big money, long-term deals with various NRL clubs. These sorts of deals have made some club hierarchies look like geniuses and other morons.
Take a look below at five clubs that have been vindicated, and others humiliated.
2. Brisbane Broncos
Unlike the other three-contracts discussed, the success of this deal is yet to be determined.
That is the six-year deal signed by Broncos behemoth Payne Haas in July of 2018 that will keep him at Red Hill until 2024.
Off the back 21-minute cameo against the Rabbitohs on debut, in which he accrued 86 metres and 21 tackles, Haas was unfortunately not able to build on that potential in 2018 having undergone season-ending shoulder surgery.
However, for Brisbane, what they saw in that brutal cameo against the Burgess boys was all the evidence they needed to tie him down for the long term, with the deal rumoured to be worth in excess of $3 million.
Having made his debut at the tender age of 18, Haas has already been subject to a representative tug of war between Queensland and NSW, with the NSWRL winning the battle. Off the back of this triumph NSWRL chief executive, David Trodden declared in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald that "He will definitely be wearing a blue shirt when he makes his Origin debut". A big statement for someone who has only played three NRL games.
The youngest member of a stacked Brisbane forward pack, Haas is more than just a cog in the wheel. With many tipping him to be the best of the lot, and if he can be half as good a player as we have been told he is, it should prove to be money well spent by Brisbane.

Don’t worry. Manly will get the best out of Sulli. Just like we turned hopeless TRex into an international before going to the dogs to ruin his career. Des has the same Bellamy touch.
