Last season the average age in the NRL was 24.4. The Wests Tigers had the youngest average at 23.4 while the South Sydney Rabbitohs' took the title of the oldest team, with an average age of 25.3.

The NRL seemingly becomes younger and younger every year, with more young stars breaking through the ranks.

There are players one or two years into their careers who are arguably the best, or one of the best, players at their position.

With so much young talent across the league, and fullback quickly becoming the most important position in a team next to halfback, here are the five best fullbacks in the competition, aged 22 and under.

2. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow - 20

One of the fastest players in the competition, Tabuai-Fidow has the potential to be one of the best players in the NRL moving forward.

Coming into the Queensland Maroons team last year for Game 3,  Tabuai-Fidow looked right at home. Scoring a try in what would become Queensland's only victory of the series.

Playing fullback for the Cowboys this year instead of centre, Tabuai-Fidow has taken some time to get used to the position. Now that he's been out with an injury, Scott Drinkwater has excelled with the number one on his back.

Whether he returns to fullback or slots in the centres, Tabuai-Fidow is one of the best youngsters in the competition.
