With the NRL season coming to a close, those who started a new chapter in their rugby league career have been given ample time to prove their worth to their new teammates, clubs and fans.

Naturally, some have disappointed, with veterans failing to live up to their reputations, or young talent thrown in the deep end too quickly.

However, some have been just as good on the pitch as they originally seemed on paper.

Whether it be bargain buys, diamonds in the rough or blockbuster signings, these are the players who have not only met expectations but exceeded them, transforming their teams in both subtle and spectacular ways.

So, in no particular order, here are the eight best signings of the 2025 NRL season.

Thomas Jenkins signed for the Panthers after requesting an early release from his two-year deal at the Newcastle Knights, returning to the club where he made his NRL debut.

It was a signing that mutually benefited both parties.

Jenkins felt like he had unfinished business, and the Panthers needed a winger too, with Brian To'o battling injuries in pre-season and losing Sunia Turuva to the Tigers.

He might not have been as impactful as some other players on this list, but Jenkins has certainly exceeded expectations, considering he had only 11 games of NRL experience heading into this season.

A versatile outside back who has mainly spent time on the wing but has also covered at fullback and centre, Jenkins finished the season with 13 tries, 20 line breaks and 54 tackle breaks in 21 games this season.
