We've reached the halfway point of the 2025 NRL season, and the competition is still tighter than ever. Just six points separate 5th place from last, meaning the Top 8 could look very different come finals time.
With all 17 clubs still in the hunt for a playoff berth, one thing is clear: no side in this competition is invincible.

10Melbourne Storm: Fatigue
The Melbourne Storm haven't missed the finals in a very, very long time. If there is one side that can handle pressure, it's a Craig Bellamy-led side.
Their 20-year finals streak proves their ability to maintain their brilliance for a full NRL season, but after two decades of success, the club would be forgiven for needing a breather or two.
While the Storm have been successful in 2025, it hasn't come in standard Storm fashion. Grinding out gritty wins while sitting in the middle of the Top 8 hasn't been the path to success in a Melbourne jumper in recent years, which begs the question: are the Storm just tired?
Their two leaders, Cameron Munster and Harry Grant, have both been tasked with Origin duties year-in and year-out, while their halfback in Jahrome Hughes is coming off an all-time season where he won the Dally M.
Throw in the fact that their star fullback, Ryan Papenhuyzen, has been plagued with injury in the seasons leading up to this one, and the concerns around the side's fatigue seemingly get more worrysome.
