The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced a new partnership with Georges River Council.

It has seen the partners gain the naming rights to the heartland of their St George heritage, with the Kogarah venue now recognised as St George Venues Jubilee Stadium.

The partnership will span three years, with the club reinforcing its belief in strong ties to its community in the southern region of Sydney.

St George Venues chief executive, Craig Epton, says they are happy to put pen to paper to contribute to the ongoing ties the company has with the community and grassroots.

“St George Venues has proudly served our local community for decades, and this partnership with Georges River Council is a natural extension of our commitment to supporting the things that matter most to our residents in the St George district.

“Sport has always played an important role in bringing people together and Jubilee Stadium is a place where generations of fans have created lasting memories. We are incredibly proud to see the St George Venues name associated with such an important community landmark.

“Becoming the naming rights partner of Jubilee Stadium is another example of our organisation investing in important infrastructure that our community relies on and loves.”

St George Venues, an umbrella company for local clubs, has a strong ambition to provide pathway opportunities in St George sporting communities and local grassroots facilities, as it invested $1.7 million into the area in those domains during the past year.

The Dragons will welcome the Cowboys to the newly named stadium on Saturday evening.
