Former Broncos assistant coach Ben Te'o has discussed the possibility of joining the Queensland Maroons coaching staff.
Te'o was originally blocked by the Broncos to join Billy Slater's regime, however, since his departure from the club, Courier Mail is reporting he has now rekindled chats surrounding his inclusion to the Maroons.
It left the NRL community shocked when Te'o quit the Broncos after having a falling out with head coach Michael Maguire over tactical decisions in the buildup to their clash with rivals Melbourne Storm two weeks ago.
The Maroons could have found their man, who were seeking a replacement for Josh Hannay, who served as assistant last year but has since taken up the full-time role as coach of the Gold Coast Titans.
It is being reported that Te'o was the one to reach out to Slater, as negotiations are set to ramp up for the Maroons' title defence, which kicks off in May.
The Titans reportedly tried to poach Te'o for this season after his defensive structures saw the Broncos snap a 19-year premiership drought last year.
Although Te'o denied the contract offer to travel down the M1, staying with the Broncos and ultimately coming to an immediate release from the club.
Te'o publicly spoke out on Triple M for the first time since his Broncos departure late last week.
"I'm going really well," Te'o said on Triple M.
"It's been a big week for me. Probably the first part of the week for me was the toughest and it is always unfortunate when things go this way.
"But all I can say is that I am someone who is pretty strong and I know what is important to me and where I am going in my coaching career and this was the decision that I came up with and I'm very comfortable with it."
The Broncos have had a tumultuous start to their season off the paddock, with ongoing conflicts with club legend Gorden Tallis and Te'o dominating headlines.
Noise surrounding the conflict has softened since the club has fielded some quality results to get their season back on track.
