The Parramatta Eels have released a statement regarding accusations of rape against Jarryd Hayne.

It was revealed today that civil lawsuit papers have been filed in the Santa Clara County court alleging Hayne engaged in non-consensual sexual intercourse with a Santa Clara woman in December 2015.

The club was unaware of the allegations until they were made public today.

      • But the nrl have never said they got egg on there face, they think they done right. Even after it was all proven a scam they never apologised ever

        • Too right Crowy – Snake was treated disgracefully. The NRL’s “excuse” (essentially, that he was suspended for being pissed) was just pathetic.

      • No it’s not, cause snake was suspended instantly before anything ever happened with police, and I’m not sure he was ever charged anyway. They were very quickly proven to be scam artists… this is exactly the same except Hayne wasn’t playing nrl then, but he is now it’s come out and is a role model for kids and the actions whether they are try or not same as snakes case, ha bought he game to disrepute. Should be out for 4 weeks. He won’t be but that’s just how it should be handled until nrl come out and say they stuffed up with Brett Stewart’s case

        • I disagree.

I’m not commenting on how the Stewart case was handled, but if it was handled badly you can’t use it as a precedent.

She reported Hayne 18months ago and the police didn’t proceed. They didn’t charge him due to lack of evidence. I’m not saying he is innocent, because I’ve got no idea, but no charges were laid at the time, or at the time of her reporting it, or now, yet you still want to suspend him.

        • Sammy,
Fair enough I didn’t realise or remember he actually got charged. Personally don’t think it changes anything, being charged isn’t convicted and ii should of been let play out before he was suspended. Snake wasn’t suspended for sexual assault img a girl it was for bringing rr game into disrepute, much same as this imo…

    • @crowey hopefully he will be when we play them.
I wonder who it was that outed us for cheating ?
SM ? He didn’t even go to the send off. 5 years of cheating is going to make us easy targets over the next 12 months. Im thinking of changing my username to avoid the shame.

      • Wouldn’t matter if Hayne is there or not manlymatt.
Parra have beaten Manly the last 6 times they have met and Hayne wasn’t there for most of them. 🙂

        • Thanks for the history lesson kev, but I think it is a bit selective and a bit short.
          Please… allow me.
Manly and Parramatta RL both started in 1947. They have met 201 times. Out of those games Manly have won 131 times. Parra have won only 66.
Manly have won 8 premiership, parra have only 4.
But alas, parra are beating manly with there WS count with 13 to Manlys 0.
Kinda paints a different picture when you hear the full story, huh Kev?

      • What want Hayne out play in against manly, if he is playing left centre as they are suggesting, maybe I back walker to run rings around Hayne. Hayne can’t defend at centre against quality. Simple as that
