The Brumbies have signed emerging Manly prospect Tom Wright on a two-year deal.

The NSW native was a highly renowned rugby product coming out of high school with both codes interested in his services.

Brumbies head coach Dan McKellar was excited by the attributes the 21-year old will bring to his team.

“Tom has genuine X factor in attack with ability to create something out of nothing,”  McKellar told brumbies.com.au.

“He also possesses very good skill. We have said for some time now that to play our style of rugby we need to recruit players with good skill and Tom has that.”

Wright possesses lightning pace, reflected by the fact that he nearly earned selection in the Aussie Sevens Rio Olympic team in 2016, turning down a contract to pursue opportunities at the Sea Eagles.

Add to that his impressive step and ability to get to the try-line and Wright has all the skills to be successful in the fifteen-a-side game.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Tom to the Plus500 Brumbies,” CEO Michael Thomson said.

“Tom is a very exciting prospect and is exactly the kind of young, enthusiastic talent, that thrives in the Brumbies environment. His pace and electrifying running are sure to get fans on the edge of their seats. We are looking forward to welcoming Tom to Canberra and the Brumbies.”
