Melbourne Storm speedster Josh Addo-Carr has set the fastest pace ever recorded in the NRL during his side’s round five clash with North Queensland.

The flyer reached an electrifying 38.5 km/hr, smashing his previous record of 37.8 km/hr in 2017, as measured by GPS data analysis.

5. Ryan Papenhuyzen – 35.8km/h (Round 10 v Wests Tigers)
6. James Tedesco – 35.7km/h (Round 7 v Dragons)
7. Jack Wighton – 35.6km/h (Round 8 v Panthers)
8. Kalyn Ponga – 35.5km/h (Round 10 v Dragons)
9. Edrick Lee – 35.3km/h (Round 1 v Sharks)
10. Corey Oates – 35.2km/h (Round 9 v Sea Eagles)

To compare to other codes, North Melbourne’s Majak Daw reached a top speed of 35.6 km/hr last year and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale hit 36.9 km/hr.

Usain Bolt has put all before him to shame, clocking a world record of 44.72 km/hr as the fastest speed ever recorded by a human in 2009.

In celebration of Addo-Carr’s benchmark effort, NRL.comΒ have unveiled a Speedster Team, made up of the quickest players in the league.
