Jarryd Hayne is being investigated by police over allegations of sexual assault that took place in September.

The Nine Network is reporting Hayne travelled to the alleged victims house in the Hunter region and engaged in sex. The woman claims she suffered injuries during the encounter, with photographic evidence allegedly supporting the claims.

The alleged incident occurred on the 30th of September, grand final night.

The NRL integrity is aware of the issue and has reportedly interviewed the woman but declined to give any statement as it’s now a police matter.

A statement from NSW Police issued to the Nine Network read: “Police are investigating following reports a woman was sexually assaulted by a 30-year-old man in late September. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad. No further information is available at this time.”

Hayne is currently defending a civil suit in the US following accusations by a woman that he raped her while he was a player for the San Francisco 49ers. Hayne was cleared by a district attorney over the claims but is still fighting the civil suit.

Hayne has rigorously denied any wrongdoing and maintains that everything that occurred was consensual.

  1. Another “where there’s smoke there’s fire” story? Seriously? Is there video like with Wighton and Lodge? Are there witnesses? Or is just like what happened to Brett Stewart, Ben T’eo and Jonathan Thurston?

    • walks like a duck, quacks like a duck … (twice now>?) As i said on the other thread – he’s doomed.

      • If proven yes. But many here were quick to jump the gun and pronounce guilt on Sam Burgess recently until Sam fought back and proved his innocence.

Now Sam is suing a Roosters employee that setup an elaborate sting to entrap Sam before a sudden death showdown with the Roosters. Talk about a conflict of interest and collusion of the highest order.

If this mud sticks the “plane” will be grounded permanently (at least in Australia). If not get ready to welcome him to the Big Red V. πŸ˜‰

        • What happened to Brett Stewart was a disgrace, i am not saying Hayne is guilty or innocent mate but D-rama follows this bloke like a bad Kardashian.

        • Sam who was judged by you and your mates to be guilty before he proved his innocence and that a Roosters employee had a massive conflict of interest and behaved unethically in trying to fabricate a scandal to eliminate Burgess from a sudden death preliminary final.

      • Pedro, I still think this is a storm in a tea cup mate and will blow over when the facts come out.

There have been plenty of examples in the past of consensual liaisons between players and “footy groupies” who are drawn to these celebrity athletes like moths to a flame and who put themselves in this position. Most we never hear about, some turn ugly and abusive while others turn sour if a “groupie” is spurned leading them to seek retribution by fabricating a story and supporting evidence. Look at the Coffs Harbour incident with JT as one such example. A trusted contributor to this site confirmed that young lady had an unsavory reputation in the area for this sort of thing.

I have consistently spoken out against players who have abused women and made no excuses for them but not all women are completely innocent or devoid of responsibility in these instances either, nor do they always tell the truth (i.e. the incidents involving “snake”, T’eo, JT and SKD).

A few years back there was a young woman who tried to tarnish the names of several AFL players from the same club (either St Kilda or Essendon from memory). These spurious allegations were later proven to be a total fabrication as this woman’s story fell to pieces as quickly as she had run to the media to sell her story and receive her 15 minutes of fame (which was later revealed to be her major motivation).

Innocence or guilt should not be presumed either way until they have had their day in court if it even comes to that.

    • I agree with you Reg. You can add SKD to the ranks of the falsely accused. I’m certainly not going to rush to judgment, he’s entitled to a presumption of innocence and just because allegations are made doesn’t mean they’re true let alone provable beyond reasonable doubt.
That said, it hardly makes him more attractive to Saints. Dufty might be breathing a bit easier tonight if he wants to stay at Saints

      • I also agree with you Reg re the presumption of innocence, regarding Hayne, but your mate Ned would also argue in the same post you contradicted that.

Have a read of your second paragraph, and I’ll bet absolutely nothing will ever come of that. I’m so confident I’ll go 1 step further and say if anyone with a direct connection to the Roosters is successfully sued, charged etc. from this I’ll take out a Manly membership, and I’m not saying that because I think the Roosters are a protected species.

38er, agreed. Innocent or not, it’s a major problem/distraction, and what club needs/wants that?

      • Cheers 38er. I forgot about SKD but I have added his name to that list in my lengthy post to pedro above. πŸ‘πŸ»

Ned, just like the Monty Python argument sketch you are offering a contradiction not an argument.

        mighty: oh, no I’m not!
        Reg: But you are.
        mighty: I clearly am not.
Reg: What you have expressed is a contradiction.
mighty: Don’t split hairs with me.
Reg: That will be $5 thank you.
        mighty: For what?
Reg: The argument. This is not a free service you know.
mighty: oh, sorry. There you go.

        πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        • I’d forgotten about that Monty Python sketch. My recollection is that Palin came looking for an argument but went to the wrong room. After being abused by Chapman he complained that he’d come for an argument, so Chapman apologetically, told him that arguments were down the hall so he went to the next room and proceeded to argue with Cleese. Dissatisfied with the argument he went to complaints (Jones). Great stuff!

        • That’s the one exactly 38er. It reminds me of ZT in sooooo many ways! Discussion, arguments, banter, laughter, fishing… and then when I’m bored I post on ZT! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    • Yes, exactly, Reg. If this woman didn’t film the alleged assault perpetrated against her, then why should we believe her?

      • Reg and a few others here have consistently spoken out against these cowards and bullies that attack women, and you know that, yet you stay in the darkness and share no opinion or speak out on these issues when, IF you ARE a woman, your honest and different perspective would be valued. When have YOU ever spoken out against Lodge, Roberts or others guilty of far greater attacks against women than a mere opinion on an online forum?

So are you saying that men are ALWAYS guilty and women NEVER lie? There have been enough examples shown in the arguments you are attacking that blow that idea out of the water if only you read and comprehended them instead of just sniping away hoping to get attention.

Well, there are a few of us here who have had enough of your cowardly interference with this site and if you want attention you will get more than you hoped for. Keep it up and we will bury you with your own words full of hypocrisy, bigotry and reverse sexism.

        YOUR words danielle:

“Thought you could keep this up all night, Reg (?)”
“you seem to have gone a little limp (???)”
“@RR/STD_1970:… before you showed your ugly head”
“I must be a man …with an STD”
“we discuss Plato/ Shakespeare/ RL issues…like how Islanders like KFC.”

You have left quite a disgusting cyber footprint danielle. It isn’t too difficult to follow the foul smelling trail you have left behind. Continue on your current path and be prepared to confront some “ghosts” from your own past.

      • @ danielle

So do you have a problem with the following statement? YES or NO?

“Innocence or guilt should not be presumed either way until they have had their day in court”

Given your latent hostility towards men clear in your own words (above) no doubt your true answer is “NO” but because you would seem irrational and unreasonable to say otherwise you know that you can only answer “YES”.

Again WHAT is wrong or objectionable about the following?

  2. Thank god he is no longer our problem.
Could have been one of, if not the greatest of all time but threw it all away.

  3. Regardless of innocence or guilt, any club would be absolutely crazy to sign him. He’s out of shape, over 30, regularly in the news for the wrong reasons, high maintenance and proven to be a selfish player.

    • I would say that Saints have pulled whatever offer they had on the table Suechi . . . Mr Bruce Gordon wont stand for this crap.

      • I heard a smokey, Hayne has relatives in the Oberon/Bathurst area and may well be off to play bush footy in Group 10.
Not beyond the realms of possibility, plenty of ex NRL players are / have been out that way

        • Big Georgey Rose, what a legend! Built like a Sherman tank with deployed airbags all around. 136 Kg of power but built for comfort as well, what an athlete!

I miss you Big George! The game needs more characters like you mate. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

        • Built like a Panzer with the speed of one crossing Africa while running over British and French troops as well as the odd Italian that got in its way more like.

        • “Slammin Sam”, do you know the difference between a Sherman tank and it’s Italian equivalent?

The Sheman tank had 3 gears forward and one for reverse and the Italian tank had 3 gears for reverse and one gear to go forward! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        • @eels47
Luke Branighan has been their coach the last 2 years off to Bathurst St Pats this year. Josh Starling now the Captain Coach of the Tigers

    • Which English club took in Monaghan after the dog lapping episode❓❔❓ Perhaps there might be a handsome offer from that club.πŸΆπŸ‘…πŸ©πŸ‘…πŸ•πŸ‘…

      • Warrington. I can see Hayne going off to play in Toronto though- Why not play in 2 (or maybe 3, not sure if there’s a French team in the 2nd tier) more countries to add to your sexual assault collection! Quick Fijian’s and Kiwi’s, hop on board the Hayne Plane, blowing up quicker than MH-17!!!

  4. He’s a glorified lowlife that doesn’t belong as any sort of public figure and no organisation should employ him. You might see the Hayne plane jetting into his local centrelink office.

  5. Let’s see all the eels supporters on a certain eels blog site back him now, hayne is high maintenance and the eels are way better off without him..

  6. Another loser for the merged mob to try and rehabilitate. Not quite up there with trying to kill a bloke by stomping on his head but still a most reprehensible act if proven guilty. There’s a very good chance that he’ll end up with a red v on his jumper but doubt he’ll end up a fan-favorite even in the ‘gong

    • From the team that took Barba and Dugan, not to mention the whole club being drugged up. Your waste of space club challenges the dogs for rubbish behaviour.

  7. All media hype- what a coincidence it comes out at this time. Saints don’t need him. Dufty is a player for the future and we’d be crazy to send him away. I’ve always felt that Hayne was grossly overrated.
