Jarryd Hayne is being investigated by police over allegations of sexual assault that took place in September.

The Nine Network is reporting Hayne travelled to the alleged victims house in the Hunter region and engaged in sex. The woman claims she suffered injuries during the encounter, with photographic evidence allegedly supporting the claims.

The alleged incident occurred on the 30th of September, grand final night.

The NRL integrity is aware of the issue and has reportedly interviewed the woman but declined to give any statement as it's now a police matter.

A statement from NSW Police issued to the Nine Network read: "Police are investigating following reports a woman was sexually assaulted by a 30-year-old man in late September. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad. No further information is available at this time."

Hayne is currently defending a civil suit in the US following accusations by a woman that he raped her while he was a player for the San Francisco 49ers. Hayne was cleared by a district attorney over the claims but is still fighting the civil suit.

Hayne has rigorously denied any wrongdoing and maintains that everything that occurred was consensual.
