Greg Bird has signed a five-year contract with Catalans Dragons.

The 32-year-old was granted a release from his deal with NRL side the Gold Coast Titans, which still had a year left to run.

Bird, who was in the Australia side which won the 2013 World Cup, played for Catalans during the 2009 season.

"I had always intended to return to the Dragons," he told the club website.

"They reached out to me and offered me a long-term deal, which I was only too happy to agree to. It's a wonderful place to live and my wife and I are excited to be taking on this new chapter in our lives."
